Willingboro Township School District

Willingboro Township Public Schools, in partnership with JDC Energy Services (JDC), A Veregy Company, is executing a $17 million Energy Savings Improvement Program (ESIP) to enhance efficiency and sustainability across all facilities. Major upgrades include the installation of energy-efficient LED lighting with advanced lighting controls in every school, significantly lowering both energy consumption and maintenance costs. The districtwide Energy Management System (EMS) now enables real-time monitoring and optimization, empowering staff to manage energy use more effectively and achieve sustainability goals. Additional improvements—such as pipe and valve insulation, building envelope weatherization, and window film—further minimize energy loss, ensuring heating and cooling systems operate at peak efficiency.

At the Alternative School at Bookbinder, a complete HVAC overhaul has been central to the ESIP project. The replacement of aging unit ventilators with new, energy-efficient models, including the addition of cooling capabilities, ensures a more comfortable and climate-controlled environment for students and staff. In addition, the boiler plant was replaced, and rooftop units (RTUs) are being upgraded to high-efficiency models, further improving heating and cooling performance. These enhancements are delivering immediate energy savings and positioning Willingboro Township Public Schools for long-term sustainability and a better learning environment for all students.
