Jersey City Public Schools (JCPS) selected DCO Energy to develop and implement the largest Energy Savings Improvement Program (ESIP) Project in NJ State history. The total project value equaled $120,126,248. The ESIP project will provide substantial sustainable improvements and most importantly enhance the learning environments for its students. The project will deliver new LED lighting, improved ventilation and cooling to 4 High Schools, a 10MW solar system with roof restoration, 11 boiler replacements with 6 of those eliminating the need for oil, a districtwide Energy Management System (EMS) and water conservation measures. The execution of these facility improvements will support over 1,100 local, well-paying jobs in the Jersey City area.
As an additional benefit, DCO and its team are implementing a districtwide Competitive Edge program to provide educational and career advancements opportunities to students and residents.
