Lower Township School District

Lower Township School District partnered with DCO Energy to implement an ESIP project to improve their classroom environment, upgrade aging HVAC equipment, and enhance the District’s Energy Management System.  With an annual savings of $102,379, the District was able to fund a $1,855,948 project.  The project eliminated pneumatic controls across the District and provided a district-wide Energy Management System that networked all 4 schools into a single, open protocol system installed by CM3 Building Solutions.  Several Unit Ventilators with electric heat were replaced with new hot water units.  The entire lighting system throughout the District was replaced with new LED bulbs and a retro-commissioning project was able to identify operational changes to reduce humidity levels in the schools.  The ESIP project utilized both Direct Install and Pay for Performance state incentives and the District was able to expand the scope of the project to 20 years of financing by installing a combined heat and power system.
