Project
When South Brunswick BOE received financing, it was the largest ESIP project in the history of the program. The $27M project completely renovated the HVAC system of one of the biggest high schools in the state of NJ. The 14-building district, totaling 1,328,900 square feet, was experiencing humidity and indoor air quality issues and had utility usage that greatly exceeded its peers across the state. LED Lighting, 4+ megawatts of new solar arrays, a districtwide energy management system, combined heat and power, and $10M+ of HVAC upgrades contributed to the District exceeding its annual energy savings goals by more than 30%. A significantly improved learning environment across the District has been felt by students, teachers, facilities staff and administration. DCO Energy and South Brunswick continue our successful relationship to this day to assure that the ESIP goals are maintained and provide the District with a trusted advisor to address the energy challenges to come.
